Hi,

I have currently set up a strategy to lay on horses before the race and to hedge with a back bet when the odds drop by a specific % in play. The lay bets are triggering correctly without any issue, however the hedge bets sometimes do not trigger even though the odds have dropped past the % i have set. Can anyone advise why this may be the case and if there is anything further I can do to ensure the hedge bet is triggered.

I have only tried this strategy within simulation mode.

Your hedge is set to monitor Back price for price change and then to ask for worse price by 20 ticks. Change that to 2 ticks.

Change Back/Lay Ratio at Hedge->Safety settings to 100%.

If that does not work then please post screenshots of placed bets and of your Tools&settings->Monitoring settings (both tabs). And screenshot of main MARKETS grid view showing loaded markets.

Also please include screenshot of "After bet rules" tab. Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply, this still seems to have not triggered on some bets even though the back price dropped below the set %.

Examples -
Lay placed on Freedom Eagle at Philadelphia 18:07 - back odds dropped below 60%- back bet hedge did not trigger.
Lay placed on Blacksmiths Forge at Downpatrick 18:00- back odds dropped below 60% - back bet hedge did not trigger.

This appears to be all ok.

During in play prices change fast and sometimes they drop down too quickly for hedge to execute, within a second and then race ends or back price goes below 1.1 or there is no offer.

Beside that, simulation mode is using Betfair delayed data, so simulation is not fully realistic for trading strategie like this one. You can read more about it in following help articles:
