If I want to only bet if the horse is in the top two of the betting (I understand about getting the prices and the way the prices are ordered) then do I just add two Selection Conditions ?
Bet type by favourite position:
Back - runner with favourite position 1
Back - runner with favourite position 2

and this will only then bet on the horse (based on an imported csv) if its top two in the betting ?

You should use "Selections conditions->Selections filter" rule to allow betting only on favourites by position 1,2 This rule will not set bet type, back or lay, on those selections. Then bet type can be set by your imported tip or by using "Default bet type" or "Bet type by favorite position" rule.
